At GTR, we proudly say WE MAKE DREAMS COME TRUE. Why? Because we believe that when people have the emotional tools to navigate the demands of life, they’re empowered to rise, thrive, and accomplish everything they’ve ever dreamed of.

GTR was born out of a clear need: countless people of color were carrying the weight of unaddressed trauma, searching for support from professionals who understood not only their lived experiences but their cultural realities. We stepped into that gap—boldly, intentionally, and compassionately.

As a minority woman–led 501(c)(3), our mission is to provide accessible, culturally grounded trauma care, mental health services, and education to underserved communities across New York City. We envision a world where mental health is not a privilege, but a pathway—one that supports healing, dignity, and healthy living for people of all cultures.

In today’s tense political climate, more individuals and families are seeking a place that feels safe, welcoming, and culturally responsive. The demand for support has skyrocketed—and because of that need, we’ve expanded our Brooklyn office by an additional 1,000 square feet to continue being the safe haven our community deserves.
