$3,000 Goal

We connect people from all walks of life to achieve one goal - to actively end homophobia in schools.

GLSEN WA is a volunteer-run organization, meaning every success we have is credited to the dedication of our amazing volunteers.  We would not be able to achieve our mission without the passion for equality that underlies the thousands of volunteer hours that are committed each year.  It is thanks to their leadership that we are able to do what we do:

  • Provide Safe Space Kits to any student or teacher in the state of Washington who requests one
  • Run the SHINE program that connects students with their peers to fight inequality
  • Organize Conferences, which provide the opportunity for students, educators, and professionals to receive valuable training  in everything from emotional well being to sexual health
  • Provide LGBTQ+ friendly, age-appropriate books to k-12 school libraries.
  • Train educators on how to create inclusive school environments and provide tools for an inclusive curriculum
  • Support Student GSA/SAGA (Gay Straight Alliance/Gender Sexuality Alliance/Sexuality and Gender Alliance) Clubs in creating change in their school communities
  • Create Safe and Inclusive school environments for LGBTQ+ Students and Educators (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer and Questioning)

We hope you are as passionate about the work that GLSEN WA does as we are!
