Goldvein Volunteer Fire Department

In November, 1965, a small group of men met in the basement of Grove Baptist Church to begin the organization of a volunteer fire department to serve the southern end of Fauquier County. On the 20th of April, 1966, a charter and certificate of incorporation was received from the state corporation commission formally recognizing the Goldvein Volunteer Fire Department. 

For nearly 50 years our department provided an all volunteer service prior to the addition of daytime staffing assistance by Fauquier County Department of Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Management firefighters/emergency medical technicians. Thanks in part to a federal grant received by Fauquier County in 2022 focusing on adequate staffing, our organization is now able to provide seamless 24/7 fire and emergency medical services utilizing a combination of Fauquier County Fire and Rescue System and volunteer personnel. In 2023, the Goldvein Volunteer Fire Department responded to over 1,000 incidents.
