Gooding Restoration for Entertainment Arts & Theater Inc

The Schubert Theatre was built in 1920 by Governor Frank R. Gooding for whom the town and county are named.  It was added to the National Registry of Historic Places in 2004. The roof is rapidly deteriorating, is leaking significantly and jeopardizing historical moldings and hand painted canvases as well as the integrity of the building. We are dedicated, passionate and committed to the restoration of this historic theatre not only because of its historic significance but because it will provide a place for the local and surrounding communities to gather to entertain & be entertained by our youth, adults & seniors.  We care because our rural communities need a place to go during the winter as well as the summer and currently the only available places for plays, music, dance, community chorale, cowboy poetry, Old Time Fiddlers, and other venues is the local schools or churches and they must drive distances to see a movie.  Each year the deterioration from water damage doubles.  Please care with us enough to preserve this history and embrace the future of our talented youth. Restoring the Schubert Theatre can provide a more upportive environment for our youth and be a springboard for a safer community enhancing the quality of lives! Supporting us will provide the community with the means to mentor our youth, serve our seniors and veterans and create a spirit of community.  Your donation will inspire creativity, promote leadership skills and teamwork in our youth and can raise levels of learning.  The arts can even alleviate despair and stress and help with learning disabilities!  You will be preserving our state, county and city history, helping to provide jobs, promote tourism helping to stimulate our economy and create joy in your life and the lives of others.
