Grand Rapids Trans Foundation

Grand Rapids Trans Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting & celebrating the Trans community in Kent County (MI). Our mission is to nurture and sustain Trans futures by creating equitable opportunities, removing barriers, and fostering community. 

Our "small but mighty" organization has a handful of programs:

1. Our Academic Scholarships aid Trans and Non-binary students with education-related expenses while pursuing a degree or certificate from an accredited college, university, or technical/vocational program in Kent County, MI. 
2. Our "Update!" Program offers personalized guidance, assistance, and financial aid for legal name, gender marker, and document updates for the Trans community in Kent County, MI.

3. Our "Gender Junk" Program offers free gender-affirming items, including binders, packers, wigs, breast forms, tucking gaffs, and more! Brand-new and gently-used.

4. Our TRANSportation Program offers free transportation-related support, including unlimited monthly bus fare, limited Lyft support for special appointments, and bikes & safety equipment!

5. We also have a number of social events every year to help the Trans community connect, find friends, mobilize, and organize.
