Our vision is to see the community revitalized through the arts, with a fully restored Warner Grand Theatre as the center of an active performing arts complex that includes the Grand Annex and other well-established cultural and artistic venues within historic downtown San Pedro.
As the Friends, we provide ongoing advocacy, marketing, technical assistance, repairs/restoration and a corps of volunteers that assists with events. We also operate the Grand Annex, where we present over 50 concerts annually in an "intimate" listening room setting. In addition, Meet the Music is our free after-school program introducing music fundamentals and introducing world cultures and geography through live concerts.
Grand Vision was formed in 1996 by concerned citizens reacting to a proposal to turn the Warner Grand into a swap meet, and called for the community to save the Theatre. We have remained a Friends group ever since, working closely with the City's Department of Cultural Affairs, which now manages and programs the building which is owned by the City of Los Angeles.
Since 1996, Grand Vision has raised and invested over $1.5 million to significantly improve the Theatre, truly an architectural gem. We have invested much more in providing high quality artistic and educational events to our community.
