We serve over 2,300 individuals with disabilities through consumer-directed programs and services. GSIL fills the gaps to turn challenges into opportunities so everyone can live their best life.

GSIL assists people with disabilities to live life on their own terms through our 17 consumer-directed programs and services which include advocacy, education, peer support, home access modifications, training, transportation, transitioning, financial and benefits counseling, in-home supports, community living services, and many other day-to-day services. Your generosity allows GSIL to remove barriers for individuals with disabilities and to help them forge a clear path to a positive, independent, and stable future. GSIL’s Board of Directors stands firmly behind this mission — and they’re putting their support into action! Our Board will match the first $2,500 raised during NH Gives. Founded in 1980, Granite State Independent Living (GSIL) is a statewide organization with a mission to promote quality of life with independence for people with disabilities and seniors through advocacy, information, education, support and transition services.

GSIL helps those facing disability and seniors to live life as independently as they choose and is possible. From helping someone to remain in their home to helping secure employment, GSIL offers over 20 programs to assist individuals with a disability gain knowledge of alternative skills, discover their resources and acquire the self-confidence necessary to accomplish their goals.

Over 51% of GSIL's staff has a disability, thus acting as role models and providing real life examples of people with disabilities living independently and with autonomy. The opportunity for support from peers helps to instill in our consumers the knowledge and belief that they, too, can live as an integrated, independent person in their community.
