Granite State Organizing Project

Who we are

The Granite State Organizing Project is a nonpartisan, multi-racial and multi-faith community organization working to place human dignity at the center of public life in New Hampshire. By uniting faith communities, tenant associations, labor unions, other organizations and individuals, GSOP strengthens the ability of granite staters to address local, regional and national issues, including education, housing, immigration, healthcare, and racial and economic inequities. GSOP is a vehicle for congregations, people of faith and all who desire positive change to act collectively and powerfully towards racial and economic equity and justice in NH.

What we do

Our shared values and diverse faiths drive us to organize for a better world for our children and our children’s children. Leaders with GSOP organize to create a society where everyone, whether Black, Brown or White, can thrive, without exception.

Why we do it

We desire a world where all people live a life of dignity, one where all people have the freedom, the ability, and the right to flourish physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

• GSOP believes that leadership development unites and allows people to take powerful steps to improve the quality of our community.


• GSOP values ethnic and religious diversity in communities and sees this diversity as enriching and healthy.


• GSOP values our immigrant siblings and the contributions they make to our state’s vitality and economy.


• GSOP believes in the power of acting collectively in ways that are consistent with our faith values and principles of democracy.


• GSOP believes that all people have the ability to co-create our environment.

• GSOP believes in the possibility of transforming people, our public institutions and culture. We are working to create a New Hampshire that ensures the conditions in which all can be healthy. Together we commit to eliminating place-based and race-based health inequities to ensure all Granite Staters have an opportunity for good health.


• We are working to create a New Hampshire where the benefits of public infrastructure — roads, bridges, broadband access, transit and development — are distributed equitably. This includes opportunities for economic growth, community health, and the increase in wealth that occurs with major transportation, housing or commercial developments.


• We are working to create a New Hampshire that aligns our public investments and applies our collective resources to achieve equity in education, and that opens access to opportunity to students of color across the State.

Who We Are

Granite State Organizing Project (GSOP) is New Hampshire's largest grass roots, faith based community organization. We work for economic dignity, racial justice, educational equity, access to health care for all. We support an economy that pays living wages, preserves natural resources and protects our planet.

GSOP's core tenet is that the most effective solutions are devised by the people and communities most impacted by the problems. We support low wage workers in their fight for dignified work that pays living wages and offers the benefits needed for healthy families.
We support tenants to organize for more affordable housing and effective code enforcement.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, we are supporting emergency food distribution at Centro Latino and rental assistance for immigrant families who have lost their jobs due to the pandemic.
