WE RISE LGBTQ SCHOLARSHIP

The We Rise LGBTQ Scholarship is born of the notion that helping out an individual lifts our entire community and is funded by the Grass Roots Gay Rights Foundation (GRGRF). Our grant focuses on the development of skills necessary to find meaningful employment opportunities. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds who share a dedication to the advancement of LGBTQ rights. Our grants will provide support for a person attending a school or vocational training program— launching their career and changing their future. We celebrate and support a wide spectrum of dreams - tell us yours in your application, whatever the path may be. Our hope is to inspire members of our community to reach for their star and bring others along on their journey. The We Rise LGBTQ Scholarship awards one time gifts annually to selected applicants in the San Francisco Bay Area who can share their stories of where they have been, and more importantly, where they aim to go. We are deeply inspired by those who have and perhaps still do face great adversity and are now seeking a more rewarding future.

After a successful sophomore year run of the scholarship program, we are happy to begin taking applications for the third year of applicants — submissions close May 31, 2024. Last year we were able to grant ten applicants the opportunity to participate; this year we will match that—and you can help us to accomplish more.
