Arts Collab

A nonprofit organization

Research shows that well-designed and well-executed arts education programs are a necessary part of college and workforce readiness. The long-term benefits of arts education on student achievement are incredible – yet, many Alabama students have minimal to no access to this type of learning.

The Arts Collab is Birmingham's arts education nexus. We exist to ensure every student has equitable arts education opportunities in Birmingham by harnessing the momentum of hundreds of arts education partners, catalyzing creative opportunities for Birmingham learners, and sparking the next generation of creative educators.

The Arts Collab champions and advances Birmingham’s arts education vision of comprehensive arts education for all learners. Our network harnesses the membership of more than 200 artists, educators, arts organizations, and program directors to share resources and opportunities to promote and increase art education throughout Greater Birmingham. We proudly host PRISM™, a searchable platform of Birmingham’s arts education experiences for schools, youth, and parents. In our programs, students take risks in the creative process, gain skills in critical thinking, and spark the growth of new passions. We collaborate with schools to infuse the arts into the classroom for long-term benefits in artistic and academic growth and increased student engagement. We also offer standards-based professional development for teachers in creativity-based pedagogical methods and annual programs to help artists grow in the art of teaching. The Arts Collab is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
