Greater Life Inc

Greater Life is a nonsectarian, faith-based non-profit that has been serving youth & family members of Newark, New Jersey’s economically challenged South Ward since 1986. At Greater Life, we provide crucial social services to over 2,000 youth and their family members of all ages, targeting those children, teens, and young adults most in need of after-school and social service supports: particularly those suffering from poverty, with unstable family lives, and at risk of being influenced negatively. 

Our expert staff of professionals, interns, and volunteers knows this Newark community well because majority live here, and we have perfected a variety of programs designed to promote improved grades and behavior, physical health, social skills, moral & spiritual health, family & community involvement, and entrepreneurial & leadership skills. Over our decades of service, we have formed partnerships with dozens of community organizations, including the Essex County Youth Detention Facility, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Newark Police Department, who established Greater Life as an official “Safe Haven”.
