Oasis of Love Church

Organization History

The Oasis of Love Church is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that was founded by Gladys Corrine Bradford in 1941 where the current Pastor is Raymond Cochran Jr.  Oasis of Love Church, Inc. is a non-profit community religious organization primarily serving in Mansfield, Richland County, Ohio.  Oasis of Love church which is deeply rooted in the northern end of Mansfield’s community and is located at 190 Chester Ave in Mansfield, Ohio.

Your Donation

 Your donation will assist seniors and those with limited mobility much easier access to our community workshops and events including senior computer classes, senior health and fitness workout classes, and senior activity craft events by helping us purchase and install a stair lift. Any amount is greatly appreciated.

Our Need

 We currently have a stair lift in an area that connects the north side of the old church facility with the new sanctuary.  The lift goes to the second floor and basement of the old facility which is used and very active. This stair lift allows seniors and those with a disability to easily go between the two buildings but only on the north end of the old sanctuary.   The old facility basement has our commercial kitchen, small stage and an area where we serve free meals to the community and have church and community events.  The old facility can also be entered from the south side but there is no stair lift and users have to use the stairs to access the second level as well as the basement. 

The Facts

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) data, one in four (26%) adults in the United States have a disability, about 61 million adults. A recent study showed that adults in the United States have a disability, about 61 million adults. Furthermore, about 14% of those have a mobility disability with problems walking or climbing stairs, and the number will continue to grow.  We need a stair left for the south side of the building entrance.  . The stair lift on the south entrance would reduce the risk of a fall or accident on the stairs on both ends of the building and would allow parishioners and guest with disabilities much needed stairway access to both ends of the building.

 Installing a stairlift on the south end of the building can not only help people with disability become more independent, but it can also prevent potential accidents. Please consider assisting us with this important project that will directly positively affect seniors in our community.
