1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse in her lifetime.

Domestic abuse occurs in Jewish families at the same rate as in the general community. It occurs among branches of Judaism and at all socio-economic levels. Abuse affects both women and men.

JCADA supports victims of domestic abuse by providing a helpline, crisis counseling, safety planning, support groups, and information referral services to all victims of abuse - women, men, teens, and children - in the greater Washington, D.C. area.

JCADA Educates the community through trainings for clergy, educators, community leaders, mikvah (ritual bath) attendants, Jewish Social Services Agency clinicians, mental health professionals, sisterhoods, men's clubs and social action committees.

JCADA works to prevent future generations from suffering domestic abuse by raising awareness through its healthy relationship initiative AWARE (Adolescents Working for Awesome Relationship Experiences). The curriculum, It's Not Love, is an experiential program which teaches about the red flags of dating abuse, who to talk to and how to help a friend. Programs are tailored to each audience.
