Thrive Upstate

Thrive Upstate supports hundreds of individuals with lifelong development disabilities or traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries everyday!  From our countywide residential houses, to our employment partnerships, performing arts programs and more, each day is filled with stories of courage, new steps, and reaching for a quality of life that may otherwise be out of reach.  

Greenville was the first County in South Carolina to fight against forced institutionalization of people with disabilities.  In 1953, Greenville County families formed what would become GCDSNB because EVERY PERSON deserves to enjoy a community, a home, and independence.

Today, we share that vision of keeping families and communities united, and we are excited to enable individuals with disabilities and special needs to thrive in life, work and play!
