About Gridstone Inc

Mission Statement: We focus on making the maximum positive effort for our community by offering food distribution services, free educational tutoring and Advance Learning for students K-12, STEM Boot Camps, parental advocacy workshops and community resource fairs to connect families to federal and local resources.  Our members and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect change. Using data driven models, we provide solutions that make a long-lasting difference.

Gridstone Inc - Math, English and STEM Advanced Learning Program
ACHIEVE ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE


Our Advanced Learning Program assists At-Risk student’s competency levels in Math and English with the goals of preparing students academically for the upcoming academic school year and/or helping students to increase their competency to their current grade level.  This is a proven solution to help those that are considered as At-Risk students to achieve academically and improve their competency in Math and English.  In addition, our Advanced Learning Program includes STEM Boot Camps that are structured to expose youth to a variety of STEM fields that ranges from Computer Information Systems, Modeled Building Cars, Physics, Program Logic Control and more.

Community Free Food Distribution

We host a Community Free Food Distribution aimed at supporting local families in need as we echo the Spirit Of Kind-Heartedness. We distribute food to over 400 families, and over 1200 individuals

When: Every 2nd Friday of the month

Where: Belle Terrace Park

Time 10am-1pm

Yearly Community Clothing Drive

We host a yearly Community Clothing Drive aimed at supporting local families in need of clothes during the winter. We distribute new and gently used clothes once a year.

When: October - November

Where: Belle Terrace Park

Winter Back to School Supply Drive

We host a yearly Winter Back to School Supply as students return back to school from Winter Break. Our goal is to replenish students with school supplies such that they are equipped to be successful for the second half of the school year.

Strategic Initiatives

Education and STEM

  • Gridstone Inc provides Advanced Learning and STEM exhibits to minority and At-Risk students in the following School Districts: 
    • Panama Buena Vista School District • Bakersfield City School District • Kern High School District • Beardsley School District • Greenfield Union School District • Academy Kyrene District • Fruitvale School District • Private Homes
  • 80% of all students that finish our summer program increases their competency levels in Math and English on average by 1 grade level
  • During Program, students read at most 3 hours per week
  • Gridstone Inc provides STEM exhibits in areas such as Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Intro to Website Design, Science, Electronics and more
  • Over 100 sign-ups for the summer program

Minimizing Food Scarcity

  • Gridstone Inc provides food to over 1200 individuals monthly
  • Gridstone Inc commits more than 1080 hours a year to help reduce food scarcity within Kern County
  • Commodity Partner with CAPK
  • Gridstone Inc visits and feed homeless citizens around Kern County
