Gsp Rescue Southwest

Hi Everyone!  It's That Time of Year and TODAY IS THE DAY FOR LOVE UTAH GIVE UTAH!  LUGU is an amazing Day of Giving in our state for charitable donations to your favorite causes. 

Utah's Perfect Pointers DBA GSP Rescue Southwest is participating along with so many other wonderful organizations.

 

It's be a tough 8 months for the pointer pack. 

We were hit hard right at the beginning of the year with 18 (count 'em - eighteen!) intakes in 3 months which is enormous for this little group.  This year's LUGU mission is to be able to feed our dogs for two months! 

We have a start of $100 which will feed 3.3 dogs for one month!  :)  It's a great start thanks to our amazing veterinarian.  A $10 donation will feed one dog for 10 days - what a great way to make your contribution count.

Utah's Perfect Pointers is a small organization with three board members in two states (UT and AZ) dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of the pointing breeds.  We are fortunate to be supported by wonderful volunteers, adopters, four veterinary clinics, a retired veterinarian, and six commercial daycare/boarding facilities.  Our mandate covers UT, AZ and NM, but because of the need we also include ID and NV. 

We have been working in Utah since 2008.  We were motivated by the high number of pointing breeds in local shelters, many of whom were euthanized for lack of space.

We love our breeds and we know them.  We take in the old, sick, injured, and sometimes we even get young, healthy dogs.  By the end of 2015 we'd taken in 538 dogs.  Of the ninety-seven dogs in our program in 2015, 20% were seniors or special needs.

  We never reject a dog based on age or health.  However, we are limited by our financial resources to care for them.
