Guide Dogs of Texas has provided over 240,000 days of guided sight to many of the over 600,000 Texans disabled by vision loss.

This year's theme is to "Empower The Puppy!"

Empower The Puppy means to give each and every pup the confidence they need to be a successful Guide Dog. Providing confidence starts when they are in the nursery with their mom. After the nursery, the puppies go to their new home with their Puppy Raiser. This is where they learn basic skills, like sit and stay, and are exposed to different environments including stores, restaurants, and regular outings. Third, comes Advanced Training. Here is when the dog works with a Guide Dog Mobility Instructor to learn the skills they need to help their future Teammate. This is where they learn how to find bathrooms, doors, sidewalks, and other skills they need. Finally, the pup moves onto working with their Team. With their teammate, they put all of the skills they have learned over the last 2 years are put to use.

We have chosen a variety of donation levels that show what your gift will provide. Your donation will provide the cost it takes to provide the needed supplies to our volunteers. Whether it is the cost of grooming supplies or the cost of supporting a team, we are so grateful for your support. Your donation will help our staff and volunteers Empower the Puppy to be successful Guide Dogs to Texans who are blind. Without wonderful donors like you, we would not be able to change lives.
