WHY GIVING NOW IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER?

In 2019, we provided youth with 1413 hours of mentoring. These numbers are dwindling due to the pandemic. We need your help.

Mentees are losing their routine. Schools are remote, in-person, and then remote again. Teachers are overwhelmed and struggling to give their students individualized attention. Mentors can fill that gap. The mentee-mentor relationship is more important now than ever before. Mentors help mentees receive better grades, have fewer absences, and be career minded. By donating to Guiding Light Mentoring through Giving Tuesday, you can help support a mentee-mentor pair for the year. The cost per pair annually is $700 which includes the background screening and monthly activities for the pair. This equates to less than $60 per month. Donations of any size could help sponsor snacks for a socially distanced park activity or help fund Guiding Lighting's Mission to create even more mentee-mentor relationships during this distanced abnormal time.

Guiding Light Mentoring is a mentoring organization dedicated to serving youth ages 8-18 in the Greater Cincinnati area by providing positive role models, teaching relationship skills, and developing moral character.

Guiding Light Mentoring embraces youth from diverse backgrounds and provide the tools necessary to improve decision making, increase confidence and attain resilience. Our programs integrate various resources that motivate youth to take a proactive role in implementing the required changes to drive success. We take pride in empowering our youth as they acquire personal development and leadership skills and journey with us to create sustainable partnerships in their communities.
