Guild of New Hampshire Woodworkers

A nonprofit organization

WE TEACH, WE MAKE, WE SERVE

The Guild of New Hampshire Woodworkers is a non-profit organization whose primary mission is to educate.  Whether you are already a woodworker, or are interested in taking up the hobby, we invite you to become a member of our community.

We believe everyone, from aspiring beginner to accomplished professional, can both teach and learn from each other.

The Guild was founded in 1990 by fourteen local woodworkers as a way to meet and share their individual skills and knowledge.  We have since grown to more than 750 members and expanded our services while staying true to our core mission- to teach and encourage others who share our passion for woodworking.

Our organization is centered around 12 different special interest subgroups, ranging from carving and period furniture to boat building and string instruments.  All meetings are free and open to the community.  We have an active group of professional woodworking teachers who are supporting our efforts for our Guild in Schools program that brings our members into the schools to teach the teachers, teach the students, and maintain and repair machinery.

Our annual attendance at the League of New Hampshire Fair at Sunapee Mt. Resort supports our Grant Program that donates funds to local schools and makerspaces around the state for needed equipment and supplies.

This will be the third year of conducting our New England Woodworking Competition that recognizes excellence in craftsmanship.  Last year, we had almost 400 attendees to view 142 submissions, 64 of which were entered by students as young as 8 years old and through college.  We are a strong supporter of Youth in Woodworking.
