Our Story:

The Gunn Foundation has been providing need-based scholarships to college-bound Gunn High School seniors for the past 48 years.  Scholarships are made possible through donations from members of the Gunn Community, including parents, teachers, administrators and alumni.

We are grateful to the generous and supportive Palo Alto community and beyond, who wants to make college a reality for an under-served, often first-generation college student from Gunn HS.  Your donation will provide an invaluable oportunity to our students to attend college with minimal financial burden, are integral to our foundation's fundraising efforts.

 

Scholarships:

 

Scholarship recipients are evaluated on academic performance and financial need. Our scholarships provide unrestricted funds for students entering their first year of college. The funds can be used to help with tuition, fees, books, transportation, and other financial impediments to achieving a college degree on a tight budget. Awards range from $500 to $3,500 per student.

2016 Awardees:

 

This year, $80,500 in scholarships were awarded to 29 deserving students, many of whom will be first-generation college students who have overcome significant personal and financial challenges to pursue further education.
