The Lord infused His Light into the dust, and            created the world, the universe. The sky, the earth, the trees, and the water - all are the Creations of the Lord.

A $15 million project begins with $6 million North Building scheduled for completion in 2018, the remainder in phases through 2019 and beyond. The visitor arrives via either of two entry drives which curve gently around a four acre community park with waterfall and natural pond leading to the main entry and drop-off area where Nishaan Sahib, the ceremonial flag is located near the waterfall.

The pentagon shape Darbar Hall and the surrounding landscape including the Sutter Buttes hills to the north offer the richness of our Sikh heritage to the visitor and Sikh Sangat alike. The natural beauty of the park with the Gurdwara building complex as a backdrop makes the perfect place for weddings and special events.

In the center of the courtyard is the Sarovar central pool with 4 fountains.  Directly across the Sarovar is the monumental stair leading up to the beautiful new pentagon Darbar Hall. The courtyard is flanked by two storey buildings on each side one with Langar Hall and the other side with community development activities including school and youth programs.

Universal principles of Sikh religion that embrace tolerance, human equality and respect for all, including the nature around us that manifests God's omnipresence are depicted in the architectural design.  The buildings are a unique blend of traditional Sikh and contemporary design with an emphasis on energy efficiency and sustainability.

The Sikh Gurus showed the world the way to live in harmony with the environment.

THE AIR IS THE GURU, THE WATER IS THE FATHER, THE EARTH IS THE GREAT MOTHER OF ALL. DAY AND NIGHT ARE THE TWO NURSES, WHERE ALL THE WORLD IS AT PLAY  -  GURU NANAK.

This project is designed in way where air will be provided by natural ventilation from operable windows. Natural light from windows will light the Gurdwara during the day. Natural light is luminous and it is God's light transcending spirituality in our hearts.

In summer buildings will be cooled by "Night Sky" that uses cool starry night sky to cool water which will be used to cool the buildings, and in winter the sun and solar energy will heat the buildings on sunny days.

Guru Har Rai, the seventh Guru developed Kiratpur Sahib as a town of parks and gardens. The park around the new Gurdwara will follow Kiratpur Sahib's principles using a pond, native California plants and fruit trees to attract birds fish and local wildlife, thus, creating a serene and salubrious environment for visitors to stroll and contemplate upon the Nature's bounties reminding us to be thankful to the God at all times.
