Hart County Habitat for Humanity volunteers want to work! We want to feel the thud of a nail under a hammer, or the spread of paint flowing from a brush, and especially the smile through sweat of a homeowner receiving a hand up toward a decent place for their family to live.
Right now, we have to put that feeling on hold, and it is hard. Yet, we know our community will be raring to go once the green light is given; once the threat of this horrid COVID-19 virus has passed. Until that day, we are holding onto each other, if even from arms length.
Fundraising toward the next project is also difficult. We can't hold events, or open our Hart Habitat Reclaim Market to sell items. Yet, we know you want to help; to make sure Hart Habitat continues when the time comes. That's why we are extremely grateful for GAGives moving Giving Tuesday to Tuesday, May 5 (Cinco de Mayo). For those who are in a position to give at this time, our hearts can't thank you enough. For those who can't, our hearts are with you. Many of our board members, volunteers and colleagues stand ready to be of assistance. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us for any need.
Looking forward to creating more strength, stability and self reliance through shelter.
