Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. We envision a world where everyone has a decent place to live within the Wasatch Back and around the world.

We are building homes for educators, health professionals, civil servants, employees of small businesses and hospitality industry workers. These are the foundation of our community, our success, and our lifestyle. And they deserve a decent place to live within our community.

Meet Chelsea

Chelsea and her son are the latest family to move into their Habitat home!

Just weeks ago, we welcomed Chelsea and her family to their new home.  The process of welcoming Habitat homeowners is thoughtful and designed to ensure our homeowners have the tools they need to succeed.

We hope you will help us welcome 14 new homeowners in the coming years by contributing during Live PC Give PC. Construction on our townhomes is just being started and your support is appreciated!

The path to buying an affordable home through Habitat for Humanity starts with the selection process.

In Chelsea's own words:

"I won't lie, the selection process was nerve-wracking. I was just doing everything I could possibly do to secure housing for myself and my son. We were in a very temporary situation and the clock was ticking."

Before being considered as a participant in the Homeownership Program, Chelsea needed to fulfill four requirements:

  1. Show a need for better housing.
  2. Be able to pay an affordable mortgage.
  3. Be willing to partner with Habitat.
  4. Be a full-time employee within Summit County.

These requirements need to be met when applying as well as throughout the program. Join us today as we follow Chelsea through the process of becoming a homeowner and all the work she accomplished on our blog habitat-utah.org.

"When I started really analyzing where my money was going and doing what I could do to better my situation is when my finances started to improve. It took time to become ready, it was not an overnight process."
