Hablemos Supporters of Gardner Academy

Gardner Academy is a K-5 elementary school located in a low-income area of San Jose, California. Each year, Gardner educates almost 400 students ages 5-11 in grades K-5. Seventy percent of our students are English Language Learners. They come from families of immigrants or undocumented immigrants who may not have the language skills to practice speaking with them at home or help them with homework.

Gardner Academy's PTO is searching to be able to provide funds to help support field trips, music, art, P.E., and other programs. Even small donations can help make a difference.

Hablemos at Gardner and the parents are valued members of our school community, the contributions made by our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), and how our fundraising efforts are making a significant impact on our students’ education.

Our school is a Title 1 institution, which means a significant portion of our student body comes from low-income families. This designation allows us to receive additional federal funding to support our students, but it is never enough, and it also highlights the critical need for supplementary resources to ensure every child has access to the best possible educational experience.

Over the past years, the PTO has been instrumental in providing much-needed support through various fundraising initiatives. Thanks to your generous contributions, we have been able to:

• Enhance Classroom Resources: We have supplied teachers with essential materials and technology to create engaging and effective learning environments.
• Support Extracurricular Activities: Funds have been allocated to after-school programs, sports teams, and arts initiatives, giving students opportunities to explore their interests and talents.
• Organize Community Events: We have hosted events that foster a sense of community and belonging among students, parents, and staff.

Despite these successes, the needs of our students continue to grow. Many of our families face financial hardships, and we strive to provide every child with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed. This is why our donars and fundraising efforts are so important.

We are planning several fundraising events in the coming months, and we need your support to make them a success. Your contributions will directly benefit our students by funding essential programs and resources that are not covered by our regular budget. Every dollar raised will help us bridge the gap and ensure that all our students have access to a high-quality education.
