The Campion Ice House successfully completed November 2015! We had a very successful first season hosting public skate, youth "Learn to Skate Classes", Sun Valley youth hockey, adult leagues, Sun Valley SUNS hockey games and curling!

 

Who is Hailey Ice?

Hailey Ice, Inc. started as a group of parents that wanted to provide a local rink for our youth in the Valley. They created a free outdoor natural ice rink originally at Roberta McKercher Park, and then inside the Rodeo arena at Wertheimer Park. Never losing our vision, this last winter our dream came true of bringing  fully enclosed ice rink facility to Hailey, the Campion Ice House.

What is Hailey Ice?
Ice rinks, but so much more! We are a 501c3 that has been working hard for over 15 years to provide affordable ice skating in Hailey. We have created a free outdoor natural ice rink since 1999 rink, with free loaner skates and gear to use after school and all day on the weekends. 

After years of hard work and determination, Hailey Ice was able to raise enough funds to see our dreams come true- building a new ice rink facility in Hailey. The Campion Ice House was completed November 2015, and opened it's doors November 16th. We have been home to public skating, "Learn to Skate" clinics, Sun Valley Youth hockey practices and tournaments, adult leagues, the Sun Valley SUNS and curling. All of these events have not only provided a new recreational venue for all to use, but have also made a huge economic impact in our community.

Where is Hailey Ice going?

Hailey Ice wants to continue our mission of providing affordable ice rinks in Hailey while educating and promoting the community in winter ice sports for recreation, physical, and mental development. There is so much more we want to do!

How do we get there?

We still need your help. We need to raise additional funds to complete a few items in the building that will make it more efficient. We would also like to grow our programming and curling to accommodate all that wish to participate.

Needs:

Scholarships: No one will be turned away thanks to the generosity of donors to help provide scholarships for "Learn to Skate" or hockey clinics

Curling: The newest sport in town has gained a lot of momentum. We would like to purchase another 2 sets of curling equipment, and also some items to help start kids curling!

Low E-ceiling: This will ensure that the rink is better insulated and therefore energy efficient. It will also assist in noise abatement in the building.

Heat Exchanger: This piece of equipment allows us to regulate the floor temperature so that it does not drop too low, causing frost heaves and damaging pipes. This equipment is necessary to stay open in warmer months.
