Haiti Reforestation Partnership (previously known as Haiti Fund, Inc.) has been supporting CODEP (COmprehensive DEvelopment Project), a rural community intent upon reclaiming their land and their future, since 1991.  Together over 14 million trees have been planted by a group that has grown to include over 1,400 Haitian farmers who are on the path to self-sustainability.

Enabling Reforestation and Environmental Reclamation by working in 6 watersheds and 60 square miles of land.  CODEP plants more than 250,000 seedlings a year with 71 lakous (villages) involved.

We are furthering Education by educating 95 middle school students in 2016 and 120 in 2017.

Haiti Reforestation Partnership supports CODEP in many ways:

  • We provide technical support from volunteers with advanced training in the fields of forestry and agricultural techniques, engineering, mechanical, financial management, and architectural support, business acumen and leadership development.
  • We provide financial support with grants for operational expenses, grants/loans for capital investments, and crowd-funding for special campaigns.
  • Physically, the Partnership makes connections to construction companies for labor and materials. Financially, HaitiReforest networks CODEP with banking services. Technologically, the group provides computers and training to operate CODEP's business activities.
