The Haitian American Nurses Association of Florida Inc. (HANA) is a 501(c) 3, non-profit membership organization, established in 1984 as two registered professional nurses practicing in Miami, Alice Casimir and Jacqueline Dasque, and other professionals, saw the need to establish an organization that would provide health care services to migrant workers in the Homestead, Florida area.
For 39 years, HANA has expanded to become a leading nursing organization in the South Florida Community.
Future endeavors: A Wellness Center free to the South Florida Community
HANA fosters awareness and commitment to providing excellent nursing services, providing healthcare education to reduce healthcare disparities and increase health literacy, actively engaging in decision making affecting the health and welfare of the underserved communities.
HANA promotes professional growth and development for its membership through membership educational sessions and conferences providing Continuing Education Unit (CEUs), scholarships or students enrolled in local nursing schools and in Haiti. and mentoring opportunities as well as creating community-networking opportunities.
