Thousands of dogs and cats that enter Phoenix’s shelter system each year are put to death, simply for being too young, a little sick, or scared.  HALO gives these dogs and cats a second chance at life.

Passionate staff and volunteers give these pets loving care, prepare them for adoption, and find them great new homes.

Icey, a sweet-as-pie gray and white tabby, came as close as they ever come to being euthanized.  When our staff was saving animals from the euthanasia list, like we do whenever space at our shelter opens up, one of the staff saw this lovely one-eyed lady sitting in a cage right next to the euthanasia room.  He knew that she was next, and he just had to save her.  Now she's safe and sound at HALO, awaiting her forever home.  Animals like Icey deserve the chance to be loved, and HALO can give them that chance.

With a small budget of about $2 million, in 2013 HALO Animal Rescue saved the lives of over 7,073 dogs and cats.  This represents an outstanding increase from 2012’s total of 4,730.

Please join other animal lovers in the community and support HALO’s Mission: Helping Animals Live On by adopting a pet, volunteering your time, or donating much-needed funds.
