Hands for Africa

Many African countries including Congo, Rwanda, Sudan, Liberia Somalia, Ethiopia etc., have suffered devastating civil wars. Most notably, Sierra Leone broke out into a bloody civil war 1991, leaving hundreds of thousands of babies, children and adults killed, young girls and innocent random women were raped, men and children maimed. Sierra Leone already recognized as one of the poorest nations in the world was ravished, over one third of the population were left displaced as it was burnt to the ground by rebels because of the greed to control and fill the request of the high demand for diamonds from the western world. These are people of a country that regardless of poverty were patriotic; they earned not a penny from the diamond trade but were dealt with a dehumanizing blow. 

Hands For Africa is organized to restore lost hope for those devastated, amputated, and displaced by the civil wars in Africa. Hands For Africa believes in the age-old concept that "It takes the village to raise a community." Accordingly, Hands For Africa has adopted a global approach to restore lost hope to those devastated by the civil war. Hands For Africa seeks to provide help for the innocent victims of African civil wars by involving people of different nations to volunteer their time and to provide donations to support the development and implementation of self-reliance programs and to provide aid necessary for the advancement of the self-reliance programs. 

Hands For Africa believes the job must be effectively done in one country before moving to another to ensure that the victims affected and displaced by civil war are self-reliant. In that regard, Hands For Africa is currently focused on implementing self-reliance programs and providing aid to the innocent victims of the civil war in the West African country of Sierra Leone.

Hands For Africa's mandate is to restore lost hope to innocent victims of civil wars in African countries and to develop and implement programs that foster self-reliance by directly engaging the innocent victims and their communities to provide artificial limbs for Amputees, to provide wells for water, to support agriculture development, to provide education for the innocent victims and their children, to provide health education, to provide micro finance for trade and housing through community construction.
