Our Mission: HARC is dedicated to providing objective, reliable research, analysis and technical services to communities in order to facilitate better decision making regarding health and quality of life.

About Us: HARC was founded in 2006 by Coachella Valley community leaders who convened to address a critical need for local, unbiased, baseline health data. Prior to HARC's creation, such information was unavailable, making it difficult to identify and measure healthcare disparities, inequalities, unhealthy behaviors and community trends.

HARC's health assessment data and reports provide objective, comprehensive, timely, scientifically collected and analyzed data that help guide local strategic planning, business development and needs assessment processes. HARC data helps agencies identify disparities in health status and behaviors, including factors such as age, education level, race, ethnicity or income, enabling agencies to target populations with preventive care to improve health and reduce medical costs. Using HARC's 2010 data, organizations generated over $7.1 million to fund much needed local programs and services to improve the health of the Coachella Valley community, such as:

• Food for the hungry
• Free HIV testing
• Housing assistance
• Senior assistance
• Transportation for the disabled
• Substance abuse treatment programs
