Many students want to participate in band and orchestra but cannot afford an instrument, and there are not enough quality school-owned instruments available.

Help keep music in Hastings Public Schools thriving for generations to come by supporting the HPS Foundation’s Play It Forward:  HPS Music Campaign.

Every year, the personal cost of acquiring an instrument prevents HPS students from participating in band and orchestra. Students who are able to use a school owned instrument find that a large percentage of them are between 30 and 60 years old – and are often in poor quality.

Additionally, pianos used for vocal music and instrumental programs across the district are in need of refurbishment or replacement.

This project benefits students from Kindergarten through 12th grade – all elementary schools, Hastings Middle School and Hastings Senior High.

It’s no secret that instruments are expensive – and that’s why we need your help. We need to raise at least $450,000 to give every interested student the chance to find their voice through music.  Donor recognition opportunities begin at $5,000, but any amount is needed and appreciated. Plus Hastings Public Schools will match the first $250,000 in donations dollar for dollar, helping make this a $700,000 project!
