Who We Are

Hattie's Dry Goods is a non-profit organization located in the historic Bonton Community in South Dallas. Founded by long-time Bonton resident, Hattie Harmon, Hattie's Dry Goods seeks to meet the needs of families in South Dallas who are forced to consider the choice between keeping the utilities and rent paid or buying formula and diapers for their young children. 

Hattie’s Dry Goods aims to alleviate that choice.  Items such as diapers, wipes, formula, bibs, bottles, clothing and more are available to families that qualify. A mother to four grown daughters and several grandchildren of her own, Hattie is known to be a nurturer, dedicated to giving children a loving and fair start to life.  Miss Hattie knows all of the families that she helps and strives to show them kindness and the love of Jesus by helping them in their need.

How We Operate

Through generous monetary donations, Hattie's Dry Goods is able to purchase the basic day-to-day necessities of young children and families.  A give-away day is scheduled each month where young mothers who qualify arrive at Miss Hatte's home in the Bonton Community to receive diapers, wipes, formula and other goods. Hattie's Dry Goods also sponsors Back-to-School supplies and Christmas toy give aways in August and December.
