Havenly

A nonprofit organization

Havenly was founded with a mission to break the cycle of marginalization that keeps refugee women in our city in poverty and isolation.  Our flagship 6-month fellowship is a paid job training program that combines work experience at our restaurant with English, digital and financial literacy, advocacy, food safety classes, and more. But we do more than that - we know that the only lasting, real solution to this problem is building economic and political power together. That is why we are dedicated to creating community, sharing knowledge, and supporting our alumni as they advocate for themselves and their communities.

We have built a fellowship and employment model and will run 3 cohorts of 15 women each in 2023; that is 45 new graduates per year that will grow their confidence, support their families, and have support to unlock their visions and talents throughout the year.  To date, we have supported 36 refugee women and more than 350 family members, generating more than three quarters of a million dollars in income for refugee families.  80% of our graduates have found employment at a living wage, 100% have transitioned cash assistance, and the average wage they are earning is $16.50/hour, compared to the $10 per hour wage that refugee women earn on average in the United States.

Please join us in supporting refugees and immigrants in our community - each and every donation counts!
