Having Only Positive Expectations Hope Inc

Located in Wilmington DE. HOPE Inc. provides emergency and other non critical services to help those facing urgent crisis situations through our food and clothing pantry, youth programs, individual/family counseling, feeding programs and special events.

In the midst of a community plagued by violence, facing obstacles such as unemployment, high recidivism rates, large educational gaps and a general mistrust of those charges with protection and service there is HOPE. We are working to bring change and light to a community surrounded by darkness.

As U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has stated,"...social ills like poverty, unemployment and lack of opportunity trap people in lives of crime and incarceration..conditions that give rise to often tragic circumstances...."

With a population of just over 72,000 people, Wilmington is a small city living under the weight of big city problems. In 2014 Wilmington and four other cities joined a US Department of Justice partnership known as the violence Reduction Network. These five cities all face very high crime rates.  The leadership in Wilmington is committed to bringing change to the community and the message of HOPE is shared by community leaders across the board.

Each night thousands of parents face the dangers of theft, assault and sexual abuse when seeking assistance from homeless shelters which often lack security. Some seek refuge in the cars but for most this is not an option. What choices do they have? Sleep on the streets in the elements without any protection? Sleep in the shelter among people strangers many of whom may be dangerous and unstable? No parent should have to decide safety over shelter when in crisis.

HOPE House is an emergency shelter responding to those in need of temporary family quarters. Private secure rooms are provided for families with children awaiting permanent solutions. What once was a church campus replete with housing options for the clergy and nuns now has new life providing a helping hand to many.  The HOPE House campaign needs to raise funding needed to renovate and furnish these private quarters so that they are geared towards families.

Think about success and you become the success you think about. Live in service and the seeds you sow will reap great rewards. HOPE needs you to help spread a messgae of redemption and restoration.  A true message of HOPE!
