The HBCU STEMulUS, Inc.

The HBCU STEMulUS, Inc is a non-profit organization founded in 2020 and incorporated in 2021. Our mission is to educate, train, and develop students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities pursuing careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). We support our mission through two initiatives:

1.) Educate, Train, and Develop

• We educate and expose students to various careers in STEM through career exploration initiatives (career panels, lab tours, etc), while also providing career and professional development resources (e.g. resume writing, mock interviews) to train and develop students for careers in pharmaceuticals and technology. 

2.) #TheConnect

• We connect students to pharmaceutical and technical corporations for internship/job opportunities, hands-ons training for laboratory and tech careers, while building their professional network. 

Our mission and initiatives aid in fulfillment of our goals:  

• Increase awareness of STEM careers among Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) students.
• Develop and implement career development initiatives to support HBCU students in the internship and job application process within STEM fields.
• Contribute to the advancement and representation of minorities in the nation's STEM workforce through targeted support and opportunities for HBCU students.
• Establish strategic partnerships with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and biopharmaceutical/biotechnology corporations to facilitate collaboration, knowledge exchange, student engagement and recruitment. 

Thus far, we have supported North Carolina Central University and Shaw University impacting more than 100 students through our student programs and events.
