Huntington Beach Longboard Crew

The Huntington Beach Longboard Crew members gather throughout the year for surf and social events. The members and the board pick local charitable causes to support each year. Annual awards are given in various categories to outstanding members' acheivements.

The HBLC Surf Team competes in various competitive team events throughout the year. These events are held as fund raisers for charitable causes. The members pay their own entry fees for these events. These surfing events are family oriented, educational and cultural events. There are over 30 surfing clubs in the USA.

The board meets monthly and helps select local charitable causes to support. Membership dues and fundraising activities among the members help facilitate our giving and annual budget. 

October 17, 1985: Established as a surfing club in Huntington Beach, California.

Current membership: Over 300 members have joined since Articles of Incorporation in 2000.

Monthly meetings held for general membership in the HB Surf Club and our HB Surf Team competes with other clubs as a charter member of the Coalition of Surf Clubs.  The HBLC collects and distributes an annual canned food drive from its members and hosts the annual HB pier paddle race.

Annual awards include Come-back Competitor, Most Improved and the Young Lion or Lioness and the Perpetual Award. There is a perpetual trophy (pictured above) awarded since 1985 to one of its members each year.

2000: Incorporated as a non-profit. This stepped up our charity events.

2003: Submitted 501(c)3 application for both State and Federal.

2004: 501(c)3 application approved for both State and Federal.

2007: Hosted the Inaugural GT World Noseriding and WTT Tandem Surfing World Championships at the Huntington Beach Pier. 

Some of our recent Charitable causes: Explorers for Life and Colette's Childrens' Home.
