The Healing Forest Institute, Inc is a 501c3 non-governmental, non-profit youth development organization. Its mission is to provide enrichment opportunities to youth and teens from marginalized communities, through experiential travel programs, residential camping and workshop retreats that support academic and social skill building in real world settings. With a focus on girls, from middle school though high school, we provide a platform of self-discovery that builds character, social confidence and academic competence.
Covid-19 Changed Our Lives--But Not Our Mission. We couldn’t change the situation, so we changed our approach as this community health crisis revealed new layers of need for the community. Our signature summer travel adventure became the Student Adventure Sponsorship Program which allowed students to engage in virtual or in-person enrichment programs to maintain or improve their skills. Our Partnership Initiative is collaborating with other community organizations who recognize that resources between programs will collectively strengthen our ability to serve a wider community.
Despite the challenges of Covid-19, we viewed the glass as half-full--now we must fill the glass to continue the support our children need to move forward. Will you help us fill the glass?
Our children have been resilient and creative through these difficult times and are working hard to recover academically and adjust socially. Our experimental enrichment programs were effective in supporting the health and wellness of youth and teens through confidence building activities.
A donation of $45 will pay for one child to attend our Annual Youth Wellness Retreat. A donation in any amount is appreciated and will support our program. Your individual gift becomes a collective present to our children!
