Teaching compassion, preventing violence, and changing lives with the assistance of ambassador, rescued, dogs.

Healing Species reverses violence in the community by teaching that #CompassionMatters. Formal outcomes show that discipline referrals go down 50%, aggression is reduced 62%, suspensions reduced 55%, and empathy increases 42%. Bottom line: students learn to reduce violence and increase compassionate and responsible actions and choices. Practicing what we teach in our lessons-- helping those who cross our path, we rescue approximately 100 abandoned dogs each year. Once rehabilitated, many go into our school and prison programs, while others are adopted into loving homes. Students learn through practical means to treat every living thing with compassion and to be an active bystander and a changer, using their real power to help someone (animal or person) in need.
