Healthy LifeStars

Arizona had the 11th highest growth rate in the nation in 2011 and the percentage of obese children (ages10-17) in Arizona increased by 11% between 2007 and 2011. A fit child learns better than an obese or overweight child and has fewer social and behavorial problems in school.

Healthy LifeStars, supports building generations of healthy kids through its unique LifeStar Challenge program. Healthy LifeStars’ goal is to motivate and educate kids, especially the underserved, to commit to living healthy lives now and in the future. The proven 20-week LifeStar Challenge targets elementary-age kids, is available to schools and youth-serving organizations at no cost and gets results through integrated, experience-based delivery of activities developed around three healthy life habits:

• I Can Do It! (setting health goals)
• I’m Active (staying active)
• I Eat Right (practicing good nutrition)

 

The LifeStar Challenge focuses on personal responsibility to help kids build the skills they need to be in charge of their own healthy lives. The LifeStar Challenge is engaging, rewarding and fun for kids and their families - helping them all live healthier lives. During the 20 weeks of the program kids will  learn, practice, experience and commit to living more active healthy lives.
