Healthy Start Coalition of Pinellas, Inc.

Founded in 1992, the Healthy Start Coalition serves 10,000  pregnant women, newborns, and families per year in Pinellas County with services and supports to help them have a healthy pregnancy, baby and family.  Healthy Start services are provided at no cost to families.

Donations help us provide basic needs for our family, including providing a safe and separate place for babies to sleep, a “Pack & Play” portable crib,     fitted sheets, and Halo sleep sack. The leading cause of preventable infant deaths in Pinellas is related to unsafe sleep conditions; on average, every year 10 babies die from unsafe sleep related causes.  Our Beds 4 Babies Project works to prevent these deaths by providing education about safe sleep and a safe sleep environment for families who cannot otherwise afford one.  Please help us prevent these senseless and needless deaths in our community.

All Healthy Start services are offered at a place and time convenient to the   family, including home visits and include breastfeeding education, childbirth education, parenting support, smoking cessation, nutritional care, health education, access to needed resources, counseling, and safe sleep education.  Services from a certified doula are also offered to eligible families.

The Healthy Start Coalition of Pinellas is a community based, private, non-profit charitable organization focused on improving the health and well-being of pregnant women, their children and families.
