Heart of Kentucky United Way

The name United Way stands for more than just a pre-eminent charitable organization, it is symbolic that we are all united in the way we progress to benefit the communities we serve.  Historically, Heart of Kentucky United Way has served many worthy organizations that we know provide benefits to those who need a helping hand, but never did we ask the community what it thought were the most significant issues and then focused our valuable resources on creating positive results.  That’s changed!

For the past several months we have reached out to you to determine the greatest needs and opportunities for impactful change in Boyle, Garrard, Lincoln and Mercer counties.  Through this dialogue we have identified three primary focus areas – Education, Family Income, and Health. 

It is important that we dream of a better tomorrow for ourselves, our children and our neighbors.  We can turn those dreams into reality by better ensuring that children enter school ready to learn and graduate high school ready for college or a job; equipping families with the tools to earn the income to meet their needs for food, clothing and housing; and helping people improve their quality of life through good health.  Our vision of improving the lives of those we call family and friends is accomplished through the generous gifts from those who care. 

As president of Heart of Kentucky United Way, I know firsthand of the meaningful ways that your donations have improved lives.  I have seen their faces and heard their stories of renewed hope.  We all benefit when our children are educated, when people are working, and when everyone has enough to eat.  Your donation of money or time is not a contribution to Heart of Kentucky United Way, but a gift of hope for a better tomorrow for all we touch.
