Did you know that Heart of the Valley YMCA (YMCA of Metropolitan Huntsville Alabama) is made up of 3 branches, 3 child care centers, 1 awesome camp on Lake Guntersville and more than 30,000 men, women and children?

We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization with a mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy Spirit, Mind and Body, for all.

We also have a charitable mission: To ensure that no one is turned away from YMCA programs and services due to an inability to pay a full fee.

The Y provides child care to 225 children of primarily single parents so that they can work, go to school and break the cycle of poverty. The Y supports our military, giving free membership to the families of deployed soldiers and to those soldiers before and after deployment. When our neighbors are laid off, we provide free memberships to help them maintain good health and well-being. We support our first responders, pitch in during disasters and predate the American Red Cross by more than a decade.
