The Heart of Texas Suzuki Organization (HOTSO) is committed to offering piano training that supports the Suzuki philosophy of musical learning and follows the international standards set forth by the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
The Suzuki method is based on the "Mother Tongue Method". Shinichi Suzuki believed that all children have the ability to learn music just as they are able to learn language. He believed that "We are all born with a high potential, and if we try hard we can all...acquire talent and ability".
HOTSO has hosted an annual Piano Institute Workshop annually since 1991, during which students may take private lessons with master Suzuki clinicians from around the country and enjoy a wide variety of classes in chamber music, eurhythmics, duets, drumming, handbells, and origami.
At the Institute Workshop, young pianists are inspired to work hard during the year to be ready to discover the joys of making music with others from triolets all the way up to playing a piano concerto (soloist) with an orchestra.
It is so inspiring to watch all of our children grow and develop in their musical journey, from the tiniest little ones learning to play "Twinkle", to the teenagers showcasing their many accomplishments.
As we are all teacher and parent volunteers, every dollar is hard-earned and greatly appreciated! It is the families working together, along with those who love music and children, who can make a difference and give our children the most wonderful, musical- education experience possible. Shinichi Suzuki believed that children are a product of their environment. We would like to give our children the opportunity to grow in the best environment possible.
"We are born with natural ability to learn...A living tree brings forth buds; on each branch blooms lovely flowers. It is the splendid course of nature. Man, I believe, should follow Mother Nature and bring forth fruit. What is man's ultimate direction in life? It is to look for love, truth, virtue and beauty" Shinichi Suzuki
Thank you for helping us to achieve Suzuki's vision for our beautiful children!
