Heels to Heal

As 2018 comes to a close, we look back on the many things we have to be thankful for this year. 

Through your generous support in 2018, Heels to Heal:

• Provided crisis counseling to more than 350 survivors to rebuild their confidence and coping skills aiding their healing and breaking the cycle of abuse.
• Opened a new Resource Center to provide crisis counseling services to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence
• Expanded our referral network to include the St. Petersburg Police Department, CASA St. Petersburg shelter facility, Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office and the St. Petersburg Free Clinic Baldwin Residence.

• $7/month represents the 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men who have been abused by an intimate partner
• $20/month covers one survivor’s group session per month for the year
• $65/month covers one survivor’s crisis counseling sessions for a whole year
• $130/month covers two survivor’s crisis counseling sessions for a whole year

OUR MISSION

Heels to Heal collaborates with community partners, members and volunteers to bring resources and awareness to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.  

PROGRAMS

We collaborate with licensed mental health therapists to incorporate counseling programs for a local domestic violence shelter facility and outreach center.

AWARENESS

Through a combination of grassroots methods and formal fundraising, we organize our community to be part of the solution to domestic violence and sexual assault.

  Heals to Heal has seriously been the most Priceless Gift I have ever received and I mean that! The past year of my life has been a whirlwind! My 2 girls and I had just got out of a Domestic Violence Shelter facility and  I was speaking to my advocate about my issues finding a “real” Therapist. She handed me the info for Heels to Heal Therapy Resource program and I have been seeing Amy Menke since. Domestic violence is generational a lot of the times, and in my case very much so, My family is not an option for support. Domestic violence can also leave you secluded and in control when everything else is out of my control. There is no greater gift that you could offer someone who is struggling with trauma and kaos, than the support of an educated knowledgeable safe place and person to go to who really helps! Heels to Heal has literally been my saving grace through this! Again I thank you so much for finding a way to TRULY make a difference!”
