Assyrian Church of the East

  The Church of the East originally developed during the 1st century in the Aramaic speaking regions of Assyria, Babylonia, and northwestern Persia (today's Iraq,
southeast Turkey, northeast Syria and western Iran).    The Assyrian Church emerged as a distinct body in the early apostolic period of the first Christian century and numerous communities sprang up throughout Central Asia, and missionaries took the Christian faith as far as China for the first time in 635 AD and the Malabar Coast of India in as
early as 345 AD.  With its rich history and a community of Assyrians who have suffered through massacres throughout the centuries, the Assyrian Church of the East has endured many sacrifices and continues to be active in historic traditions. 

 Today,the Assyrian Church of the East has five major Dioceses and we are asking you to donate to the California Diocese.  The churches in California are in much needed help in order to keep their diocese open.  In the aftermath of the War on Terror and War in Iraq many Assyrian refugees from Iraq have fled their homeland and come to California seeking help from The Church of the East.  Many don’t have families, jobs, or a place to live, yet the church tries to help and is need in order to help our refugee
brothers and sisters but to also help maintain the Christian faith and rich Assyrian heritage. 

Every day, thousands of Assyrians struggle to
survive. The world's first Christian nation faces yet another silent genocide. They have been forced to flee from their homes for fear of being tortured,raped, or killed. They have no "safe haven" to turn to and are forced to live as illegal immigrants throughout the Middle East. They are not allowed any basic civil or human rights, and they live in severe poverty.

ACERO is a non-profit organization which donates
100% of all funds directly towards helping our needy Assyrian brothers and sisters in their desperate time of need. Their adopted countries have turned their backs because they are illegal refugees. But it is our duty to bring this tragedy into the light, and let the world know of their suffering. We must support our brothers and sisters, and assist them as much as possible. We must not let their sacrifices and suffering to be in vain.

Your generous donations assist them to purchase food, medicine, medical supplies, pay their rent, and other necessities that many of us take for granted. Without our help, they will be forgotten.
