Helping Kids With Cancer

Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease among children in the United States ages one to fourteen. Helping Kids with Cancer (HKWC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity whose mission is to assist critical needs for families who have a child with cancer.

The diagnosis of cancer is a devastating event. But as families struggle with the long-term emotional and financial effects of their child’s illness, this is where Helping Kids with Cancer strives to offer assistance. HKWC services are unique because no other resources, such as insurance or community programs, exist to meet these urgent needs for families. Though each situation, and family, is different, a few examples of what monetary donations provide are gas cards for parents who don’t know how they will get home from the hospital that evening. Or, grocery gift certificates for families who have depleted their savings in order to pay for life-giving medical treatments.

A portion of our donations go to purchase new diagnosis bags that provide essential care items for parents that have a child unexpectedly checked-in through emergency services or life-flight.

All of our efforts come through monetary donations and voluntary service, which allows the money to go directly to assist families who have a child battling cancer meet acute needs.
