Heroes Horses and Hounds Inc.

When I was little I rescued everything I could from snakes to baby birds to dogs. As I have grown up I have seen and lived through so much suffering that I still have an overwhelming desire to help those in need, human or animal. A few years ago I started learning about service animals and animal assisted therapies. I loved the concept and watched how well these programs worked!

  It sparked an idea...I could rescue Horses and Dogs who had the qualities to be service animals and retrain them for pschyicatric service then place them with a civilian or Veteran with PTSD, child with autism, as a resident service dog for a facility or use them in my own animal assited programs! I talked about this idea with people in my community and quickly gathered a group of passionate volunteers to start Heroes.  

  We have started small with one rescue puppy in training and our first 4 animal assisted programs developed. Our goals this year is to rescue two miniture horses to train, place Colby the service puppy with a veteran and buy a facility to expand into our full potential! All we need is some help to get started and we will be self sufficient in a few years. Saving and placing over 50 animals per year!
