Founded in 1982, High Plains Food Bank's mission is to alleviate hunger in the Texas Panhandle. High Plains Food Bank distributes food to individuals and families across 29 counties through a network of over 130 nonprofit feeding partner agencies, including churches, senior centers, child care facilities, halfway houses, soup kitchens, Kids Cafes, emergency pantries, shelters, and more. In addition, we provide several direct feeding programs to serve particularly vulnerable and underserved communities. 1 in 6 neighbors, including 1 in 5 kids faces food insecurity in the Texas Panhandle. Asking for help can be difficult. But, helping is easy. HPFB can provide up to 9 meals with every dollar you donate. The need is real, and your help is vital. In addition, several direct feeding programs provide assistance to particularly vulnerable or underserved communities.

Prior to COVID-19, 1 in 7 neighbors, including 1 in 5 children, faced food insecurity. Due to the ongoing effects of the pandemic, we estimate that 1 in 5 neighbors, including 1 in 3 kids now struggle. Many are seeking food assistance for the first time. Asking for help can be difficult. But, helping is easy.
