High Plains Retreat Center

At High Plains Retreat Center, we believe in the power of stepping away from the busyness of life to experience renewal, connection, and community.  On 319 acres of wide-open space under the West Texas skies, our camp offers space to rest, recharge, and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation.

Since our founding in the late 1950s, High Plains Retreat Center has welcomed thousands of guests. Many of our original structures still stand as a reminder of our history, now joined by our most updated space-our beautifully renovated Mays auditorium. Our grounds are filled with opportunities for adventure and fun—whether that’s testing your skills on the ropes course, swimming under the Texas sun, gathering at the outdoor covered sports court, or enjoying activities like archery and the rifle range. With a variety of cabins, large meeting spaces and dining options we are ready to host gatherings of every size.

While High Plains Retreat Center was originally founded with churches in mind, today we’re honored to serve a wide variety of groups—families, schools, first responders, clubs, and community organizations. We welcome people of all ages: children, youth, college and adults alike.

Some would describe High Plains Retreat Center as holy ground. Over the years, countless stories have been shared of people meeting Christ for the first time, growing deeper in their faith, and experiencing the refreshing presence of the Lord during their stay.

At High Plains Retreat Center, our heart is simple: to provide a place where lives are changed, faith is strengthened, and memories are made.
