Higher Hopes

Higher Hopes! is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that serves families with children enrolled in Early Head Start Child Care Partnership Programs in Metro-Detroit. We provide a bounty of food in nutritious, multiple-meal food kits. Our goal is to inspire independence, relieve food anxiety and encourage family meals together. 

Higher Hopes! works to fulfill the ideals of its mission through monthly meal kits and holiday feast distributions at Labor Day and Thanksgiving, with our programs expanding every year!  As an agency partner of Gleaners Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan, Higher Hopes! utilizes the mobile pantry platform to distribute 35–45 lb meal kits every month to families at the Head Start facilities.  This is in addition to the our current holiday events, wherein 1,000 kits with everything needed for a barbeque are provided before the Labor Day weekend, and 1,000 full Thanksgiving dinners are distributed to the families the week before the holiday.  By providing all the ingredients necessary, low-income families are still able to take part in cooking traditions with their loved ones around the holidays.
